Shri Rakesh Singh

is an Indian politician and a Member of Parliament in the 17th Lok Sabha. He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

He was appointed as the Chief Whip of the Bharatiya Janata Party in the Lok Sabha in 2016, replacing Arjun Ram Meghwal who was inducted into the Modi government.

He is working as the chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Coal and Steel. Singh is also an active member of various other parliamentary committees. He holds the position of Co-Incharge of the Maharastra unit.

• 1978-1979: Science College B.Sc. Elected member of the college executive in the first year.
• 1979-1980: University representative in the Science Council.
• 1994-1995: Elected member in the Executive Committee of Jabalpur Timber Merchants and Saw Mill Owners Association with maximum votes.
• 1994: Election Director of Bharatiya Janata Party of Bargi Assembly Constituency in Vidhan Sabha Elections.
• 1999: Election Director of Bharatiya Janata Party of Bargi Assembly Constituency in Vidhan Sabha Elections.
• 2001: Appointed as District President, Bharatiya Janata Party, District Jabalpur (Rural)
“Gaov Chalo-Ghar Chalo” campaign was started by BJP Jabalpur District Rural which was run by the Bharatiya Janata Party in the form of a movement across the country.
• 2004: Won as Member of Parliament for 14th Lok Sabha from Jabalpur constituency by about one lakh votes.
• 2009: Won as Member of Parliament for 15th Lok Sabha from Jabalpur constituency by more than one lakh votes.
• 2010: State General Secretary, Bharatiya Janata Party, Madhya Pradesh.
